The Expedia Data Warehouse Team is searching for a SQL Developer that is capable of implementing Microsoft SQL Server solutions for Expedia’s Enterprise Data Warehouse. We have millions of customers, we are selling thousands of tickets each day, and our site is a market leader. We need people who can help us build database systems that are high-quality, scalable, and high-performance to meet the demands of our Enterprise Data Warehouse. Responsibilities include assessing business rules, performing logical and physical data modeling using IDEF1X information modeling techniques, implementing physical database objects, managing data, building/extending toolsets, and using ERWin to document and maintain business rules and implementation specifics within the data model. This position will also develop optimized stored procedures to solve complex problems, tune large-scale databases for peak performance, implement databases in a Microsoft SQL Server 8.0/7.0 environment, work with other disciplines (Program Management, Technical Operations, other Software Development Engineers, and various business owners) in implementation of analytical and technical solutions, review project plans and specifications, communicate implementation limitations and data-driven solutions with project team and management. Required qualifications include thorough experience with Microsoft SQL Server version 7.0+ or a related mission-critical relational database product and a minimum of 4 years of professional database design, development, and implementation experience in a large-scale, multi-user environment. Experience with Data Warehouse development, dimensional modeling, OLAP technologies, XML, and ASP coding a strong plus. Knowledge of client/server and/or Internet technologies also a plus. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred.
