Description/Duties :
|
The Transport Engineer is needed to review current network topology; working with regional groups accross company and documenting the transport facilities network for the Carrier Access Billing System implementation.
Summary of Duties
1. Responsible for assessing and documenting transport facilities network for interconnection billing implementation.
2. Develops and coordinates the planning documentation and implementation of the CABS system.
3. Assist in the requirements phase for the CABS implementation.
4. Apply current telecommunications knowledge and research current standards documents to keep up with the continuing changes in the industry.
5. Create high-level design documents from requirements that contain such items as use cases, flow diagrams structure definitions and architecture diagrams.
6. Work closely with project manager to create project plans and host weekly meetings to track progress.
7. Ability to interpret tariffs.
8. Responsible for reviewing interconnection agreements and documenting billing components for billing implementation.
Required Skills:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent Job Experience. Telecommunications preferred.
Design of Transport networks for wireless or other telecommunications systems.
Understanding of Network Call Processing (ex. Type 1, 2A, 2B, Long Distance, 800, E911, etc.) - min. 5 years.
Ability to interpret tariffs-interconnection agreements.
Understanding of GSM & UMTS wireless network and its components.
Extensive knowledge of the PSTN, LERG and telecommunications transport networks and their configurations.
Understanding back office system functionality such as rating and billing.
Strong systems, network and telecommunications knowledge.
Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
