Description/Duties :
|
On a weekly basis, pick up grocery bags (10-20) of food at 1-3 local food banks and deliver bags door-to-door to residents of 1-3 Seattle Housing Authority high-rise residences; assist in the determination of individuals’ nutritional and dietary needs and enroll new participants as needed. Assist in quality surveys; on a monthly basis drive residents to local grocery stores and/or food banks as needed; perform routine maintenance and safety check of vehicle and schedule maintenance and repair of vehicle as needed; and attend program and department meetings and training as required
Qualifications: Must be 21years of age; valid Washington State driver's license and a clean driving record for the past five years: no serious moving violations, no at-fault accidents, no DWI's; ability to drive a 15 passenger van; ability to physically perform position duties; excellent customer service skills, including demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, co-workers and general public; ability to make decisions and maintain patience under stressful conditions; and willingness and ability to work with people from a variety of racial, cultural and economic backgrounds, with various lifestyles, sexual orientations, and of all ages.
Hours and Compensation: This is a part time (20 hour per week) union position paying $12.30 per hour plus benefits. Benefits include include: earning 8 hours of paid personal leave per month, 11 paid holidays, 401K employer matching pension plan (fully vested after 6 months), medical, dental, short-term and long-term disability, tax sheltered health care and dependent care accounts.
